November 17, 2019 Former premier William Lai accepted President Tsai Ing-wen’s invitation as her running mate to form the strongest team combination in Taiwan’s next January presidential election.
As long as Taiwan wins, there will be no losers.
Lai said “Facing China’s threat and the warning crisis from Hong Kong, what DPP can give to Taiwan people? Isn’t our most important mission to unite and safeguard Taiwan? As long as Taiwan wins, there will be no losers, but if Taiwan loses, then there will be no winners. Therefore, I was touched by President Tsai’s sincerity, and from the expectations of many people, I saw my responsibility. I decided to accept Tsai’s offer as her running mate in the presidential election, and unite to guard Taiwan in the darkest moments. Let it continue to shine in the light of democracy, guiding Hong Kong and illuminating the world." He further said “We are comrades within our party, not enemies, not even opponents. We have fought many election campaigns and experienced hardship, and will face more challenges together in the future. Please support President Tsai. Let us all walk side by side on the road to strengthening Taiwan and bring hope through action. "
Lai’s commitment to join the presidential campaign for Taiwan’s security and future prospects has been warmly welcomed by the society and won the support of the global Taiwanese community. However, there is a small group of Lai’s fans in old day, they had vowed not to vote unless Lai. Now they have vowed to face the troubles and pains in the final decision. Some say yes they will accept Lai’s call, but some others say no, at the time, they only hoped to use Lai to defeat and bring down Tsai. Now Lai associated with Tsai, then it is another matter to talk about.
The coldness of world, use leverage to remove political enemy
For Lai, this officially let him see the coolness of the world, the followers of the past, who is hypocrite, and who is the diehard supporter indeed a good lesson for him to learn. Some even said they would rather to vote KMT’s candidate mayor Han Kuo-yu not Lai. Their primary goal is to pull down Tsai and completely defeat her. It is not they need Lai for sure. Although those who against Tsai have many different reasons and accusations, Tsai should have to be humbly reviewed, fix it change it if there was, otherwise take it as good advice. However, it ends up same as Xi’s accusation they are in line with the strategy of defeating Tsai. Why? Because Tsai does not listen to Xi, not recognize the 1992 consensus, not accept the one country two systems, and is too close to the US and listen to it. The US recently passed too many acts to support Taiwan, hindering China’s annexation of Taiwan to complete the great mission of reunification. It is unbearable and unforgivable.
The election on January 11 next year is indeed critical for Taiwan and worldwide Taiwanese. Just take a look at the KMT Central Standing Committee approved list of legislator-at-large nominees, retired army lieutenant general Wu Sz-huai (he attended an event in Beijing in 2016 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Sun Yat-sens’s birth, standing for the Chinese national anthem and taught PLA how to fight against USA) and retired Central Police University associate professor Yeh Yu-lan (she condemned Hong Kong students as rioters and endorsed Hong Kong police’s violent crackdown), they are Xi’s followers and favor for Taiwan is reunified by PRC. They are advance agents of PRC’s Trojans, and they are totally not qualified as the spokesperson and legislator of Taiwan people.
Losing freedom and democracy, future generations can only fight against blood
Taiwan people really should cherish the freedom and democracy they have today, it takes time to build up into our daily life system, but once we lose it, it will be too late as Hong Kong now students must risk their lives to fight for the basic human rights every day. How can it be?
Mayor Han claimed himself as a simple ordinary people, drinks a bottle of mineral water, eats a bowl of braised pork rice, and a plain citizen, saying that he would run for a very humble president for Taiwan people. But he owned a luxury apartment with a market price NT$72 million (about US $2.4 million dollar) value in 2011 and many others luxury homes in different years.
Compare to Han, I would say most of the oversea Taiwanese are poor and living in poverty. Obviously, Han is a liar and his party KMT is nothing but pro unification with PRC. Compared with Han, what I want to say is that most overseas Taiwanese have become poor people living in poverty. How many people can own a luxury home of US$2.4 million dollars? Obviously, Han is a liar. His party, KMT only wants to reunify Taiwan by China at all.
Reviewed history, Taiwan is not part of China
However, examining from history, Taiwan is not part of China and there is no any legal document can prove Taiwan is an inalienable territory of PRC. She was ceded to Japan in perpetuity and full sovereignty by Xing Emperor in 1895 under the Shimonoseki Treaty. Although KMT’s presidential and legislative candidates have repeatedly attempted to push Taiwan to China, this is totally unacceptable to the international community.
For the present, the fundamental solution is to ask the principal occupying power of Taiwan, the US government to verify Taiwan’s identity. Please refer to the Taiwan Relation Act. Since January 1, 1979, the US has told us in black and white that it no longer recognizes ROC only recognizes the governing authorities on Taiwan. Yes, we should vote for Taiwan. As Lai said, as long as Taiwan wins, there will be no losers.
Help KMT to return home and send it to China as soon as possible.
Look at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the police and the people fighting, the fire is shining, is this best arrangement for our descendants? Wisdom Taiwanese voters, please use your non-participating party ballots to help the Kuomintang to return home, and send them to PRC as soon as possible so that they can share their happiness with Xi. Taiwan is a good fortune. It is very good indeed! It is very good indeed!
