(Taiwan, or the Republic of China, is not at this point a state in the international community. The position of the United States government is that the ROC -- Republic of China -- is an issue undecided, and it has been left undecided, as you know, for many, many years.)
It is almost impossible for a young man who has been educated by the ROC system in Taiwan to recognize his country as Taiwan. Because they were enlightened and instilled, my country is called the Republic of China, with the splendid scenery of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River. It is also impossible for a Chinese who has been educated by the People's Republic of China to recognize Taiwan as an independent country. However, the truth of the matter is that China does not belong to Taiwan, and Taiwan does not belong to China. Both are talking nonsense with their eyes open, turn black into white. This is the so-called brainwashing education.
【Ode to Taiwan in Alishan Sea of Clouds】
Fortunately, since Taiwan's society was restructured by Lee Teng-hui in 1996, the people have begun to wake up. It turns out that China has always been a vicious neighbor and bandit in the living space of the international community, threatening, intimidating, bullying, oppressing, and strangling us. After Chen Shui-bian came to power in 2000, the society began to attach importance to Taiwan's local education and pay attention to Taiwan's environment, rivers and mountains. The people also began to know the customs of this island, and sang the Ode of Formosa: "Alishan, the sea of clouds, can't be seen at a glance; Jade Mt., Yangming Mt., peaks and peaks are connected to the sky. The ancient sages and piorneers built their homes here; when the wind blows and the rain hits, it has stood for four hundred years. Taiwan Treasure Island, Taiwan Treasure Island, can stand the test, if the water in the Straits and Pacific Ocean is continuous; Formosa, Formosa, forever and ever.”
[Voting licking CCP and ultimately surrender]
Although Ma Ying-jeou is also the president elected by the Taiwan people, he only agrees with China, so he firmly locks Taiwan into China. When he was in power, he emptied Taiwan's equipment, rewarded investment in China, opened up China to come to Taiwan for real estate speculation, bought land, enjoyed universal health insurance, vigorously advocated infiltration in Taiwan, diluted national defense armaments, attempted to invite the PLA to Taiwan for rescue, and donated large sums of money to China for disaster relief , committed to China to become a vassal, and participated in the World Health Assembly as an observer with great embarrassment. In his perception, Taiwan can only participate in the international community through China. He firmly believes that Taiwan belongs to the Republic of China, and both the ROC and the PRC belong to one China, in other words, Taiwan belongs to China.
【Taiwan today receives worldwide attention】
In 2016, Tsai Ing-wen won the election and took power as president. Under her administration, it has been seven years. On May 20, the seventh anniversary of her inauguration, she hosted a press conference titled "Redefining Taiwan, Let the World See Taiwan Again". She said: Since taking office, the appearance of Taiwan has been very different from that of seven years ago. Taiwan has become a key word in the current world. It is a stakeholder, and the current global consensus is that the Taiwan Strait issue must be resolved peacefully, war is not an option, and neither party can unilaterally change the status quo in a non-peaceful manner. Peace is the only option between the two sides of the strait. Maintaining the status quo as the greatest common divisor for all parties is the key to ensuring peace. Now is the historical moment when the international community pays the most attention to and is most friendly to Taiwan. Therefore, the ruling and opposition parties must unite and cooperate. Internally, we can compete for democratic elections, but externally we must jointly protect the ROC Taiwan.
[Taiwan Relations Act Early Announcement]
Tsai’s press conference generally stated that under her administration, Taiwan has received unprecedented and enthusiastic support from the international community, which is worthy of recognition. However, her final appeal, "We must jointly protect the ROC Taiwan with the outside world", is not flattering and worthy of discussion. I believe that what the international community supports today is Taiwan, not the ROC; the United States also enacted the Taiwan Relations Act in 1979, expressly declaring that the world does not recognize the Republic of China. Because in the perception of the international community, the Republic of China has been replaced by the People's Republic of China since October 25, 1971.
[The Republic of China is pending]
I believe that everyone who pays attention to the development of Taiwan's political situation knows that the ROC has always been an undecided issue for the United States. On August 30, 2007, Dennis Wilder, Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the US National Security Council (NSC), stated that Taiwan, or the Republic of China, is not at this point a state in the international community. The position of the United States government is that the ROC -- Republic of China -- is an issue undecided, and it has been left undecided , as you know, for many, many years.
【The ROC Assists in the Defense of Taiwan】
Before the end of World War II, the international community used Formosa to refer to Taiwan. Even when the San Francisco Peace Treaty was signed, Taiwan and Penghu were still referred to as Formosa and the Pescadores. On December 2, 1954, George KC Yeh and Dulles signed a joint defense treaty between China and the United States. The United States promised that the ROC would represent the whole of China, participate in the anti-communist military alliance, help defend Taiwan, and limit counterattacks at the same time. But in 1979, the United States clearly stated in the Taiwan Relations Act that it would no longer recognize the ROC. Therefore, since the United States was authorized by the San Francisco Peace Treaty as the principal occupying power of Taiwan, the US always regarded Formosa as Taiwan, not the ROC as Taiwan's ruling and opposition parties say.
【Taiwan is not of China under UN2758】
I believe that many people are wondering whether the Status Quo regulated by the United States refers to Taiwan or the ROC? Some people in Taiwan today regard it as the endgame of the China civil war between the KMT and the CCP; and some people think it is the unfinished business of the United States after World War II in the Western Pacific? Since the United States is the principal occupying power in Taiwan after WWII, its speeches in the international community certainly count. UN R2758 clearly tells us that there is only one China in the world, and the PRC is its only legal government. Therefore, it is not feasible for Taiwan to cross the border with the ROC. On May 16, the Foreign Relations Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives passed the "Taiwan International Solidarity Act." The bill clearly states that UN R2758 only deals with the issue of China's representation and does not involve Taiwan. It also emphasized that the United States opposes any initiative that attempts to change Taiwan's status without the consent of the people of Taiwan.
[China will be sanctioned for stupid actions]
On May 21, U.S. President Biden held a press conference after the closing of the Group of Seven (G7) summit meeting in Hiroshima, Japan. He responded to NHK reporter Takagi Masaru’s question about the situation in the Taiwan Strait and said: “China or Taiwan neither territory can independently declare what they're going to do, period there has to be a mutually agreed new outcome. And so, what we’re sticking by that we're not going to tell China what they can do. We made it clear that we don't expect Taiwan to independently declare independence either. But in the meantime, we're going to continue to put Taiwan in a position that they can defend themselves. And there is clear understanding among most of our allies that in fact if China were to act unilaterally there would be a response.”
【Taiwanese elected president of Taiwan】
The status of Taiwan, which has troubled Taiwan for a long time, is believed to have been clearly defined by now. Taiwan is not ROC that no longer possesses international personality. Therefore, it is inappropriate and unwise to regard Taiwan as the ROC, or Taiwan of the ROC. Taiwan is Taiwan, or Formosa, but definitely not the ROC. Some friends who study legal theory say that if this is the case, Taiwanese should boycott the election of the president of the ROC. In fact, this is the key point. What the United States cares about is that the president elected by the people of Taiwan, no matter what the ruler calls him, the United States regards him as the president of Taiwan. On April 5, McCarthy, the speaker of the US Congress, regarded Tsai Ing-wen as the president of Taiwan and held a meeting at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California, USA. If some Taiwanese factionists want to boycott the election, then who can represent Taiwan? If you want people to give up the election, you must be able to present convincing data to prove your legal representation. Otherwise, if you let yourself boast that you are a representative of the Taiwan faction, you will be question again, who do you represent?
【Elected Taiwan Government to Participate the WHA】
The 76th World Health Assembly has already opened, but Taiwan is still unable to attend the meeting; I believe the root cause is, who will represent the 23 million people in Taiwan, and which government has the right to represent the 23 million people in Taiwan? Certainly not the Chinese Communist government led by Xi Jinping. The government should be elected by the people of Taiwan themselves and have the right to represent it. But this government must declare that it only represents Taiwan, not the ROC, which is going to compete with PRC for representation. Does it exist today? Only by learning from the pain and having the courage to take responsibility can we come back to life and participate in the world. Let us sincerely hope that the only government that truly represents Taiwan will be established soon. So that Taiwan can realize its dream and participate in the WHA as soon as possible!
